Westlake Marching Festival 2008

Parking and Shuttle Arrangements

General Instructions:

ALL DRIVERS - Please obey the instructions of our orange vested traffic managers and the deputies from the Travis County Sheriff’s Department who are helping with security in the parking areas and traffic flow.

CAMP CRAFT ROAD will be restricted to Pit equipment vehicles, Handicap parkers and others with permitted vehicle access to the stadium.  Please do not obstruct traffic by parking on this narrow lane or the adjoining residential streets.

Participating Band Parking Instructions:

Parking for Marching Festival participant buses is available in two lots noted on the map.

PIT EQUIPMENT VEHICLES:  Only equipment trucks and trailers, NOT BUSES, should be brought down Camp Craft Road, a narrow winding street, to the stadium at Gate F.  They may be asked to relocate soon after your performance.

If you carry horns, uniforms, hats or other gear your band needs for warm-up in the same equipment vehicle, please have that vehicle lead your buses into Gate B for unloading before moving to the Pit area (Gate F) near the stadium.  It would be a good idea to have the pit equipment loaded in first so it doesn’t have to be unloaded with the band gear.

BUSES:  All band buses should arrive through Gate B (or gate A if so directed), which is the first traffic light on Westbank Drive from either Loop 360 or Bee Cave Road (FM 2244).  Band students will unload at the entrance near Gate D before moving to your warm-up area.

In the morning, buses for all AAA and AAAA bands will be directed to park in the NGC/tennis lot across Westbank Drive from Gate C.  It will be very crowded from noon on and we cannot allow private vehicles into this lot before 3:00.

The AAAAA bands and others returning in the afternoon or evening will be parked in the Fine Arts Facility (FAF) lot through Gate E after unloading.

Spectator Parking Instructions:

SPECTATOR PARKING:  Parking in the immediate vicinity of the Stadium is severely restricted.  Spectators can park in the large Shriner lot, which is the first driveway on the left on Westbank Drive from Loop 360 (Capital of Texas Highway). Parking here should be freely available for all morning performances before noon.  Allow 15 - 20 minutes to get into the stadium from here.

Beginning at noon we will open overflow parking at Valley View Elementary, 1201 Loop 360 S., which is about a half mile north of the Westlake HS campus. Turn east at the traffic light at the intersection of Loop 360 and Lost Creek Blvd. and loop back to the first school parking areas.

A Free Shuttle will begin at noon with stops at the stadium entry, the Shriner lot and the Valley View overflow lot.  The Shuttle will run every fifteen minutes until 11:00 pm.

At 3:00 pm we will open the NGC/tennis lot across from gate C to spectators.  Allow 10 – 15 minutes to walk around the school to get into the stadium from here.

HANDICAP PARKING: There are plenty of reserved handicap spaces right at the stadium entry.  Feel free to come down Camp Craft Road and through Gate G. If the handicapped spaces are full, the best solution is to park at our satellite parking lot at Valley View Elementary at the Capital of Texas Highway South and Lost Creek Blvd. intersection (east side) and ride the shuttle bus that runs every 15 minutes until 11 pm.
